Welcome to our beginner sewing class on sewing your own face mask from our gorgeous faith-filled panel!
Face masks have become a part of our reality – and the longer they are needed, the more important it is to have extras on hand. One wonderful trend, if you will, with the masks is the ability to share something about yourself – just as the clothing you wear shares who you are, so, too, can your mask.
It was with this in mind that I created these custom Catholic face masks, ready for the DIY sewist. Each panel comes with six different masks, and – depending on whether you buy just the panel or the kit – are ready to be made right out of the bag. The perfect feature of these masks is you can customize them to your face size. Need a wider elastic? No problem – trim your provided elastic a bit longer. Have a smaller face? No problem – trim the fabric a bit smaller. With you in charge, you can make them to fit exactly how you need.
Today, we’re going to walk you through the step-by-step process to create a custom face mask Below, you’ll find step-by-step photos on how to sew your very own! I’ve also linked to many of the products shown in the photos, as I’ve tried several and these are my go-to items when it’s time to sew.
Happy sewing! (…and if you’re looking for premade ones, here’s a link for purchase)
