This year (2018), from now through July of next year, my family and I are on a one-year tour of the US! We rented out our home, and are living in the cutest RV you ever did see 🙂 It’s such a great opportunity to grow together, and share wonderful experiences as a family.
One of our favorite pastimes is to go fishing. We fish at every campground, and most lakes that we pass. It’s such a relaxing way to pass the time, and gives us all a chance to check out for a bit as we share in an activity together. My little guy is especially into it; in fact, he was the inspiration for this new paper piecing fishing quilt pattern called “Gone Fishing”. This fisherman (or fisherwoman!) sits at the end of the dock, bare feet dangling just above the waterline, not a care in the world as he watches for the first tug on his fishing line.
This fishing quilt pattern is designed to be made as a block of either 12″x 12″ or 24″ x 24″. The pattern contains templates for both sizes, making it a two-in-one! When finishing, you can either keep it square shaped, or add sashing to make a longer/wider quilt – the choice is yours. I’ve also prepared a helpful video with ideas for quilting the negative space in the background of this fishing quilt:
