Fabrics Used: Riley Blake
This block looks deceivingly simple – but oh, my, there were so many small pieces! I played up some of the shapes, as the spaces were so small. The green flowers have this great circle center, so I cut the circle to frame the mermaid four times (it kind of looks like the bubbles in some of the other blocks, doesn’t it? Then, the fabric around the seahorses is the same fabric – I just (in two of the blocks) used the pink, green, and purple swirls, and in the other two cut so the pink lines were excluded. It was a really fun practice in using the same fabric and highlighting just pieces of it to create an entirely different look! It also got a bit wet, so please do forgive the wrinkles 🙂
Here are the completed blocks in the Under the Sea for Me Quilt. I hope they inspire you as you make yours!
