Quilt Block: Silver Coins on Spy Wednesday (Matthew 26:14-16)

Description

On Holy Wednesday we remember Judas Iscariot, who received 30 pieces of silver from the chief priests as a price for betraying Jesus as recorded in Matthew 26:14-16. Judas subsequently returned the money, remorseful for his actions, but the chief priests refused to accept it, deeming it “blood money”. They then used the money to purchase a field, which became known as the “Field of Blood”. How often have we turned our back on and betrayed Jesus for even less?

This silver coins quilt block pattern is designed with the advanced beginner foundation paper piecing individual in mind and includes:

• a short scripture reading and devotion/reflection tied to the block you are making
• the three foundation templates (8″x8″, 10″x10″, 12″x12″) making it three patterns in one
• instructions for assembly of the block
