Description
Jesus continued to give his disciples throughout what we now call Holy Week. On Tuesday, as the group returned to Jerusalem, they saw the tree that had been cursed the previous day. The tree was a symbol, in that moment, of Israel. There were those who preached their faith and – like the fig tree – appeared from the outside to be devout. On the inside, though, they were empty. Their faith wasn’t in God, and was instead in those of the world. They bore no fruit.
There are times in our own lives when we can be like that fig tree, nurturing our “favorite sins”. What is one branch on your tree that may not be bearing as much fruit as it should?
This Holy Tuesday fig tree quilt block pattern is designed with the advanced beginner foundation paper piecing individual in mind and includes:
- a short scripture reading and devotion/reflection tied to the block you are making
- the three foundation templates (8″x8″, 10″x10″, 12″x12″) making it three patterns in one
- instructions for assembly of the block
