I have the super fun opportunity to help plan events for the Middle School Youth Ministry at our church. Seeing as how it’s Advent, I wanted to to plan an Advent themed game…but what to do with a bunch of middle schoolers? Thinking back to games I loved playing at this age brought the goofy “pin the tail on the donkey” and all the hilarious memories that came with it.
With that in mind, I created “Pin the Candle on the Advent Wreath”! Played in a similar style, each person adds one piece of an Advent wreath to the next in the hopes of building the perfect wreath. As you can see in the short 2-minute video, though, it doesn’t usually end up that way 🙂
This project was literally SO easy as there’s no sewing involved *and* cost about $5 to make. I created the video above for you to show you how to create your own “Pin the Candle on the Advent Wreath” game for your family or youth group event. If you’re looking for more creative ways to bring the spirit of Advent into your home, check out our main Advent page! Have fun – and wishing you all a wonderful Advent season.
