Fabrics Used: Riley Blake + on hand stash
Ooh…new favorite block! Mary turned out to be one of my favorite blocks so far. I think it’s the crisp white fabric – I really like how clean it is, and how it highlights the prints against the white background. In making this block, I used up the little bits of random fabric that is left over after fussy cutting the main shapes – that’s where many of these pink and white border triangles came from. I also included a few little seahorses in the border, and trimmed them so they would all be angled just a bit different. IT looks like they’re having fun swimming around the mermaids! I was *slightly* off in trimming one of the green center pieces – do you see that poor little blue sea horse whose head is sewn? Ouch…sorry little guy. I promise to trim closer next week.
Happy Farmer’s Tuesday! Here are the completed blocks in the Under the Sea for Me Quilt. I hope they inspire you as you make yours!
