Welcome to Christmas in July! Can you believe we’re already half way through 2025? (It sounds even worse saying that out loud…or typing it…or whatever. Ha!)
I’m so excited to collaborate with the amazing Designing Women team for a special Christmas in July edition! Each of these talented ladies have created a special holiday-themed project to share with you, each of which are perfect for sewing now and gifting during the holiday season. We also recorded a super fun video sharing our favorite Christmas recipes, stories, and an up-close look at each of the projects we’re sharing!
First up is the lovely Raylee from Sunflower Stitcheries and Quilting with Christmas mug rugs! Sew these adorable little mug rugs for each of your holiday guests, and everyone will have a personalized space to keep their hot cocoa and cookie from Santa (and you won’t have to worry about stains and rings on your table). Make each mug rug as unique as the recipient, or make a matching set for your dinner table!
Speaking of mug rugs, how about a larger size for the cat lovers in your life? These kitty cat placemats are purrfect for your feline friends, keep the food and water drippings off your floors, and are machine washable whenever needed. There’s even a video tutorial walking you through how to make!

Deer Christmas is a gorgeous pattern by Charisma Horton who routinely sees and is inspired by the deer in her yard! Finishing at 64″x76″, this Deer Christmas pattern incorporates multiple techniques, giving you a chance to practice your foundation paper piecing and traditional piecing, all in one quilt.
Are you looking for functional gifts? This drawstring tote by Laura of Orange Blossom Quilts is the perfect sturdy, reusable, and washable bag for the person always on the go! Laura even suggests making this bag as an addition to your shoebox donation to Operation Christmas Child; just remember that no religious, copyright, or political fabrics can be used.

I’m here to round things out with two projects you may have missed, both of which are perfect for the holidays and gifting! First up are the Pocket Prayer Quilts, which are literally made with the intent of gifting them. Voila! Each kit comes with the materials to make six Pocket Prayer Quilts and includes: six scripture verses, batting, six crosses to nestle inside the mini quilt, and six gift bags. Everything comes safely nestled in a muslin bag.
Next up is a free project: Christmas Tree Napkins. These adorable napkins are both fun *and* functional, as they decorate the table at the same time they keep your hands clean! Grab your scrappy Christmas fabrics, or make them all in coordinating shades, and have the most beautiful Christmas table around!
