In December of 2015, National Geographic published an article titled “How the Virgin Mary Became the World’s Most Powerful Woman”. Mary has appeared on the cover of TIME Magazine more times than almost any woman since publication began in 1923. Like Beyoncé, Shakira, and Cher, she is know throughout the world by just her first name. She is the mother of God.
Mary was the inspiration for this print, and the words spoken by the Angel Gabriel repeat throughout the fabric. In this feminine print, the bold stripes create a contrast against the soft pink roses. The flowers repeat throughout the design and the lace along each stripe creates a soft effect alongside the flower petals.
